Aogashima is a volcanic island in Tokyo, located 358 km south of Tokyo and the southernmost inhabited island of the Izu Islands.

Surrounded by upright cliffs ranging from 50 to 200 meters high, Aogashima Village in Aogashima is the least populated village in Japan, with a population of 170 as of January 1, 2014.
