Darvaza’s Gates of Hell, Iran

Darvaza's Gates of Hell, Iran

The Darvaza Gates of Hell is located in the middle of the Karakum Desert in Turkmenistan’s Ahal Province, about 260 kilometers north of the capital Ashgabat.

This hellish gate with a terrifying name is not a devil or a witch, but was created by human hands. In 1971, when a geologist conducted a boring survey, he accidentally discovered a cave full of natural gas, but during the course of the survey, a cave-in occurred, and the area where the equipment for mining work was placed was 50 cm in diameter. A large hole of 100 meters has opened.
