Gamla Stan, which means “Old Town”, is the old town of Stockholm, Sweden. Sometimes called Staden mellan broarna (meaning the city between the bridges).
The city’s origins date back to the 13th century and it preserves its medieval alleys, cobbled streets and quaint architecture. North Germanic architecture has a strong influence on the construction of the Old Town.
