Okinoerabu Island is located in the southwestern part of the Amami archipelago, belonging to Oshima District, Kagoshima Prefecture, 552 km south of the main island of Kyushu.

Okinoerabujima is an island that was born from the upheaval of coral, and there are about 200 to 300 caves of various sizes, including Daisen Suikyo Cave, which is the second largest cave in Japan. It is a caving spot that is very popular with overseas cabers.
