The Cordillera terraces, called the Stairway to Heaven, are located in the Banaue Valley in the north-central part of Luzon, the largest island in the Philippines.
On the land where there are many peaks over 1000 meters above sea level, the terraced rice fields built by the Ifugao hill tribe about 2000 years ago are astonishingly 1500 meters high. It can also be half the length of the circumference.
